CAMP DESCRIPTION
MORNING CAMP ROOM 8
Middle-School Survival Camp
For students entering 5th through 7th grades
Don’t just start middle school—conquer it! Transitioning to middle school is one of the most significant “big shifts” a student will ever experience. To ensure our elementary students start middle school with confidence, WHS Foundation is proud to offer its first nine-day intensive summer camp designed to build the social, emotional, and academic muscles needed for middle school success. This survival camp is designed for current 4th, 5th, and 6th graders who want to build confidence and master the “hidden rules” of middle school. Through interactive and collaborative activities, students will earn nine essential Middle School Success Badges as they participate in this camp:
The Maturity Badge: Cracking the code on how middle school expectations differ from elementary.
The Mindset Badge: Smashing “imposter syndrome” and building the confidence to try new things.
The Tribe Badge: Master cultural respect, making new friends, and resolving peer conflicts like a pro.
The Advocate Badge: Learning to talk to teachers and asking for help when needed.
The Chaos-Killer Badge: Pro-tips for locker organization, managing busy schedules, etc.
The Brain-Power Badge: High-level study hacks techniques using digital tools.
The Balance Badge: Essential self-care and stress-management tools for the busy student.
The Visionary Badge: Setting short-term middle school goals that lead to long-term career dreams.
The Leadership Badge: The grand finale! Premiering their Middle-School Survival Guide video for future middle school students at our end-of-camp party.
